Troubleshooting: Why Video Won't Download?

Common issues and solutions when using MediaSaver to download X (Twitter) videos.

1. Private Accounts

If the tweet author has a lock icon on their profile, their tweets are private. MediaSaver cannot access private content. You can only download videos from public accounts.

2. Sensitive Content Filter

X (Twitter) may flag certain videos as "sensitive" or "adult content." If the tweet contains a content warning, our API may not be able to retrieve the media.

Solution: Unfortunately, there is no workaround for this. The API respects X's content policies.

3. Incorrect Link Format

Make sure you are copying the full tweet URL. It should look like:

  • https://twitter.com/username/status/1234567890

Do not copy links from third-party apps or shortened URLs.

4. Deleted Tweets

If the user deleted the tweet after you found it, the video is gone. There is no way to recover deleted content.

5. Connection Issues

If you see a "Connection error" message:

  • Check your internet connection.
  • Try again in a few minutes (the API may be rate-limited).
  • Disable VPN or proxy if you are using one.

6. Download Starts but File is Corrupted

If the downloaded video doesn't play:

  • Try a different quality option (lower resolution).
  • Clear your browser cache and try again.
  • Try a different browser (Chrome, Firefox, Edge).
